One of the hardest things for people to do is to tell perfect strangers about Jesus.  Why is it so hard?  What are our reasons for not spreading the Good News?  A lot of us have the mentality that, “Hey, here is the Church, they go by it everyday, if they want to come the doors are open”.   What about this one, “I did my part today, I saw Ms. Smith while I was out shopping and invited her to church this Sunday!”  This is good but it is not sharing Jesus.  Sharing Jesus is telling others what Jesus is doing in your life.  Sharing Jesus is caring enough about others to tell them how to get to Heaven, that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ, not by good deeds or works.  You can’t work or pray yourself into Heaven.  “It ain’t gonna happen that way.”   Here are some reasons for not sharing Jesus.

1.      I might get beat up

2.      I won’t make any sense

3.      I might be made fun of

4.      I won’t know how to start

5.      I’ll be a bad witness

6.      I will say the wrong thing

7.      I’ll be a religious nut

8.      I don’t know enough

I’m sure there are plenty more reasons if you start thinking hard enough, and I think of them more as excuses than reasons.  I’m sure glad when Jesus went to the cross that he didn’t say:

1.      I’m too tired

2.      I haven’t done anything wrong

3.      Why should I pay your debt?

4.      It will hurt too much

5.      I have something better to do

6.      You’re not worth it

7.      What have you done for me?

8.      I don’t love you enough to die for you.

Actually that is what we are saying when we miss opportunities to share Jesus with others.  Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, a time of giving and receiving gifts.  Have you received your gift from Jesus?  He paid the ultimate price for your gift?  This gift cost God His Son.  How can you turn it down?  Receive your gift, the gift of Eternal Life.  It is a gift that will last more than a life time, it will last forever.

Tell everyone about Jesus.  He will give you the words to say - just trust Him.  You can do all things through Him - just trust Him.
